Armormax Modular Armor
Some may have wondered about ADT’s decision to armor their entire national fleet of reaction vehicles, but after two recent attacks on their personnel reacting to a call out from clients, this decision has been soundly vindicated. In the most recent attack, the assailants round, fired from an AK 47 would have impacted the reaction officers head. Instead the round was deflected by the armored “Face Shield” ( A unique ballistic insert, mounted just inside of the vehicles side windows).
Tyco International , ADT’s parent company have gone to great lengths to ensure that their reaction personnel are the best equipped and best protected in the industry. The project to armor around eight hundred reaction vehicles commenced in late June, and by September had been completed.
They were armored by the South African division of Armormax, an International Armoring Corporation affiliated company and one of the worlds leading armoring companies who are based in the USA. Using the same easy install concept used by IAC in armoring over 1500 Humvees in field during the Gulf war, the armor is easily installed by qualified Armormax technicians, and just as easily removed from the vehicle when the lease period is over, and the vehicle returned to the leasing company with no sign of the armor installation. Light enough to have no real discernable impact on the average reaction vehicle, it is the ideal solution for the security industry.
